It is necessary to make at least one selection below.
| STEP
1 What subjects
are you interested in?
Each item in the collection has been assigned a subject term. You may search the CLAS collection by selecting one or more of the listed terms, or by selecting "all subjects." If you do not make a selection from this set, "all subjects" will be included. To look for materials on child assessment, for example, select "child assessment" from the preselected set of subjects and submit the search. If the subject you are looking for is not in the preselected list, enter a subject term or terms of your own choosing. For instance, you might enter: autism Or perhaps you might want to use one of the terms from the preselected list, but want to focus your search a little more. You can select the subject "child assessment" from the list of preselected terms and, in the box below, enter: california if you're looking for child assessment resources relevant to California. You could also enter more than one term in the box: toddlers infants If you enter more than one term, you need to also indicate whether you want the search engine to look for items in the CLAS collection that contain all the terms (e.g., BOTH toddlers AND infants) or any of the terms (e.g., EITHER toddlers OR infants). If you do not indicate your preference, the search engine will search for "all the terms." You can also search using phrases by surrounding your terms with quotation marks. For example:"cognitive development" When you type subject terms into this "choose your own term" box, the search engines searches for those terms in the title of the material, the summary of the material, and the special keyword terms that have been assigned to that item by the CLAS editors. If you do not enter anything in the " choose your own term" box, the search engine will use whatever you've selected in the "preselected subjects" boxes. STEP 2 What age range are you interested in? Materials in the CLAS collection are often intended to serve children in particular age ranges. CLAS editors identify these ranges and assign them to the materials, to help you in identifying the materials you want. You may choose any one range you want. If you don't make a selection from among these options, the search engine will by default search for "Birth-8." STEP 3 Which languages are you interested in? CLAS reviews materials in several languages. You can select the particular language (or languages) of materials that you want. If you do not make a selection from among these options, the search engine will by default include materials in "all languages." STEP 4 Which formats are you interested in? CLAS reviews materials in several formats. You can select the particular format (or formats) of material that you want. If you do not make a selection from among these options, the search engine will by default include materials in "all formats." |
