Summary:

This fact sheet discusses children who are deaf that have additional disabilities. It describes the population of children with multiple disabilities, including deafness, the differences among these children, and the special needs of individual children. The population of children with deafness and additional disabilities is provided, along with information on how such children are identified and diagnosed, the educational planning contained in the Individualized Education Program, and the educational materials and strategies that are used with this population. A list of 54 publications that address children with deafness and additional disabilities is included.
